Presence occurs when a person perceives their environment and external space to have favorable conditions. Accordingly, the amount of voluntary presence, which is the source of presence for social interactions, increases and prepares the space for such fields (communications).In this study, an attempt was made to analyze and investigate the impact of social events on citizens' presence in public spaces of the city. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. The statistical population of the study consisted of citizens living in Qazvin, whose number is 409,535 people. The sample size was estimated to be 384 people using the Cochran formula. The validity of the research tool was calculated using the confirmatory factor analysis model and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and SMART PLS software with descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling. The findings showed that recreational, sports, business, and cultural events have a positive and significant impact on citizens' presence. Among the variables studied, cultural events had the most impact with a path coefficient (β=0.377), such that this variable is able to explain 14.2 percent of the variance of the dependent variable. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that policymakers and urban planners in Qazvin need to plan for events and organizing urban events, thereby providing the basis for citizens' presence in publicariable.
